Iconic Goth Immortals Type O Negative launched the Official Type O Negative Coffee on October 22, 2025. The band sought a blend that captured their unique mix of Brooklyn blood, sweat, and tears–along with love and depression. About Type O Negative:
Type O Negative were a New York goth metal quartet led by vocalist, bassist, and songwriter Peter Steele, alongside Kenny Hickey, Josh Silver, and Johnny Kelly. Formed in 1990 from the remnants of Steele’s thrash band Carnivore, the group redefined heavy music with slower tempos, dark humor, and a haunting mix of melancholy and melody.
Their 1991 debut “Slow, Deep and Hard” introduced their signature sound, but 1993’s “Bloody Kisses” brought them worldwide acclaim. Driven by the success of “Black No.1,” the album slowly climbed the charts, eventually breaking into the Billboard Top 200 and becoming a defining release in gothic metal. Follow-ups “October Rust,” “World Coming Down,” and “Life Is Killing Me” expanded their sound and solidified their cult status.
After Peter Steele’s passing in 2010, Type O Negative’s influence continues to loom large—celebrated for their singular blend of heaviness, irony, and heart.
